IGRT therapy
Forums:
I was dx 2 yrs ago w/cervical chordoma after having multiple surgeries for Clival. I had proton beam for the brain but this new one presented different options. It has never been touched.
2 teams recommended 2 full days or surgery with spinal fusion and possible loss of function (further loss)...followed by 8+ wks again of Proton Beam in Boston. One institution, Memorial Sloan Kettering, offered IGRT High Dose Conformal Beam radiation which took one hour and no surgery. I was only patient number 5 but they have done 25+ since.
It has been 2 years and I am stable; they belive the tumor is necrotic (dead). If anyone would like further information just let me know! Thanks, Sharon/NYC
